Wide Horizons For Children is seeking a family for a 12 year old girl from the

Philippines. The child arrived in the U.S. in December 2009. This is a

situation where the initial placement cannot be permanent. We are confident,

however, that this child can do very well with the right family.

The child was attending the 4th grade in the Philippines. WHFC is awaiting

results from an educational assessment completed by the local U.S. school

system. We have the results of testing in the Philippines. One report

describes Cathy as, "definitely above the average in intellectual capacity" a

different report states, "she is functioning within the dull normal range". She

speaks fluent Tagalog, but can communicate quite well in English.

She is described as a quiet, shy resilient child who is comfortable with a

structured environment. There have been no behavioral issues in placement or

reported from the orphanage. She is a practicing Christian and her religion is

very important to her. Reading the bible and prayer are a source of comfort for

her.

Please consider any appropriate families for this child. She really deserves a

family who can love her and help her meet her fullest potential. Any agency or

qualified family (with a current or past home study) may request additional

information and pictures of this child. The child is currently residing in

Massachusetts, but we would consider families throughout the U.S.

FEES: No child-placement fees will be charged. Family will be responsible for

fees related to Home study, travel expenses to/from/within Massachusetts, U.S.

finalization and post placement services.
